Articles RMH-Milwaukee Expansion to Begin This May
Kambiz Pahlavan, MD, Medical Director of RMH-Milwaukee, said, "Since the hospital opened in May 2000, our patient numbers have quickly grown and currently there is a waiting list in many of the programs. This addition is a symbol of our dedication to meeting the behavioral health needs of Milwaukee families. The added space will allow us to explore even more behavioral health services and programs. We look forward to having a more comfortable, more confidential facility that will reflect the high quality of treatment RMH-Milwaukee provides." In its first year of operation, 2000 to 2001, RMH-Milwaukee served 143 patients. In 2006 it served almost 3,400 in inpatient and partial hospitalization; Adult Chemical Dependency, 295; Adult General Mental Health, 152; Child & Adolescent, 462. David Moulthrop, PhD, President and CEO of Rogers Memorial Hospital, said, "The Rogers Memorial-Milwaukee medical and support staff have worked effectively to establish this hospital as a provider of exceptional service and strong treatment outcomes. This expansion will allow the Milwaukee staff to continue to grow its menu of specialized behavioral health services and provide an even higher quality of care for patients." Jerry Noll, Rogers Memorial Chief Financial Officer, said, "The expansion was designed by Zimmerman Architectural Studios, Inc., and will be built by VJS Construction, Inc. The project will take about a year to complete and has been approved by the West Allis Planning Commission and Common Counsel." Steve Schaer, Manager of the City of West Allis Planning and Zoning, said, "Rogers Memorial always has been a valuable resource to our community. This addition will enable even more behavioral health services for families and will enhance the image of not only Rogers Memorial but also the City of West Allis." |
