About Chemical Dependency Services
When people struggle with addiction, it is extremely challenging to establish and maintain abstinence without outside help. For many, more than one course of treatment is needed to achieve lasting success.
Rogers Memorial Hospital is certified by the State of Wisconsin to provide medically managed, intensive treatment for adults in all stages of addiction. We offer a range of treatment options not often found in other settings.
Our Approach
Components of 12-step programming provide the framework to educate patients about addictive illness and begin the recovery process.
- Establish Abstinence and Engage in Recovery: The first step toward sobriety is recognizing the power of addiction and the “unmanageability” it leads to.
- Build on Abstinence and Focus on Growth: Abstinence is only the beginning of complete recovery. Recovery also requires learning how to replace self-destructive patterns with healthier thoughts and behaviors. Through individual and group sessions, patients learn to identify strengths and enhance coping skills. We encourage patients to practice principles of recovery that will foster social, mental, emotional, physical and spiritual growth.
- Involve and Educate Patients and Families: We educate patients and families on the nature of addiction, the recovery process, relapse prevention, craving and support resources. All patients are encouraged to have their families attend family-focused treatment sessions. Family members are provided opportunities to learn about the addiction process and how to support someone in recovery.
- Prevent Relapse: As patients continue their recovery, they will encounter obstacles that can trigger relapse. We help patients learn to identify relapse warning signs and establish effective coping strategies.
Levels of Care
There are three levels of chemical dependency services offered at Rogers Memorial Hospital.
- Detoxification Services
Inpatient detoxification and stabilization services in a secure setting provide a safe transition through physical withdrawal from alcohol or other drugs.
- Residential Services
The Herrington Recovery Center provides intensive treatment for adults who are medically stable but have been unable to achieve recovery in a short-term or low intensity treatment program. A comprehensive five-day evaluation is available for professionals referred by licensing boards, regulatory agencies and other privileging organizations. The center’s new “green” facility is built to meet certification for the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) standards. The natural surrounding and comfortable settings blend together, creating a warm and supportive atmosphere.
- Day or Evening Treatment
Day treatment provides support, medical monitoring and accountability during the hours of the day identified as most troublesome for patients. The option of attending either a day or evening/weekend schedule is available for patients, allowing them to maintain work, family or school commitments.
