History: Scott Wallenfelsz Quick Links: In 1988, the board of directors hired Scott Wallenfelsz as President of Rogers Memorial Hospital. Scott had a great deal of experience in the financial management of several religious orders. He was, himself, an ordained Catholic priest. This time frame was concurrent with the heyday of the St. Barnabas Center at Rogers, a nationally prominent program for impaired clergy. The program was designed to help ministers, priests and other religious and their families who were experiencing problems – from alcohol and drug abuse to depression and other mental health issues – often coupled with the crossing of professional boundaries with members of one’s congregation. Fr. Wallenfelsz’s religious background was a natural complement to this program, which was, at the time, the most economically viable program at the hospital. Initially, Wallenfelsz and Stolpman became fast friends. Wallenfelsz left RMH in 1992. |
