Dr. Ted WeltzinTheodore E. Weltzin, MD is a board-certified adult psychiatrist who is an established leader in the field of eating disorders.

He serves on the board of directors for the Eating Disorder Coalition, is a member of the American Psychiatric Association and Academy of Eating Disorders and an Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at the Medical College of Wisconsin.

Dr. Weltzin has contributed to the research and treatment of eating disorders with more than 45 peer-reviewed publications, invited book chapters and international lectures. He was a reviewer and consultant for the first American Psychiatric Association “Practice Guidelines for Eating Disorders” published in 1993 and is an Editorial Board Member for the journal “Eating Disorders: The Journal of Treatment & Prevention.”

Dr. Weltzin has appeared as an expert on CNN, CBS Morning News, Good Morning America, The View and The Dr. Phil Show.

As medical director of Eating Disorder Services at Rogers Memorial Hospital since 2001, Dr. Weltzin has provided leadership in all areas of development and clinical oversight of one of the largest eating disorder treatment centers in the country.

He has trained well over 100 clinicians in the field and developed innovative programs addressing the unique needs of eating disorder patients. These programs include residential, inpatient and partial hospital treatment as well as programs for patients with eating disorders and anxiety, excessive exercise and males with eating disorders.
