The Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder Center

“We couldn't believe how fast (our son's) recovery progressed. Because he was willing to work hard and had been given the right tools, he was able to break his dependence on rituals.”

- Father of OCD patient

The Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder Center

The Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder Center has served over 400 patients, with over 90 percent of them significantly reducing their symptoms to a much more manageable level. Each patient's treatment plan is individualized, but all plans use exposure and ritual prevention (ERP) therapy which was developed from cognitive behavioral therapy. For some patients, the most efficient and effective treatment for obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a combination of ERP and medications that have been found to be helpful with OCD.

New! Separate CBT services for ages 12 –17

Rogers Memorial now offers separate cognitive behavioral therapy services for teens aged 12 to 17 at the Child & Adolescent Center, also located on the RMH-Oconomowoc campus. The program, which offers 30 hours of structured CBT per week, is directed by the OCD Center staff, managed by a CAC behavior therapist, and designed specifically to address adolescent anxiety disorders, including school phobia, obsessive compulsive disorder and OC-spectrum disorders (trichotillomania, body dysmorphic disorder, hypochondriasis).

The Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder Center offers two levels of care:

Residential Program
The Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder Center provides intensive treatment for severe and difficult cases of OCD, OC spectrum disorders and other severe anxiety disorders. This program combines a home-like environment with 24 hour per day staffing. The goal for the stay is a significant reduction in OCD symptoms and reintegration into the community. An approximate length of stay is 60 days. Residential care is cost-effective treatment that is an alternative to either inpatient or outpatient care.

NEW! The Adult Center at Rogers Memorial Hospital provides specialized residential treatment center for adults with co-occuring diagnoses of severe or chronic eating disorders and difficult-to-treat cases of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) or other anxiety disorders.

The Partial Hospitalization Program
The obsessive-compulsive disorder partial hospitalization program provides intensive treatment for moderate to severe cases of OCD. Following a detailed assessment, individuals are seen Monday through Thursday, 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., for a minimum of three consecutive weeks, but an average of five weeks. The program's goal is to reduce OCD symptoms to a manageable level. The cost of the program is covered by most insurance companies.
