Training for Your Organization

Karin Beal, Behavior Management Specialist
Karin Beal has been a Rogers Memorial child
and adolescent behavior management specialist since 1994.
Many school systems and health care organizations know Karin
as director of Challenge Camp, a summer day camp for children with attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder held on the hospital’s Oconomowoc 50-acre lake front campus. She is a certified Child and Youth Care Worker through the Wisconsin Association of Youth Care Workers and has a Master’s Degree in Education. Karin is a frequent presenter at local and state conferences for educators and parents, and has worked extensively with school districts and state and county agencies.

Karin is also the coordinator for a program called Awareness Self-Responsibility Positive Change (ASC). VIEW/ DOWNLOAD ASC Brochure

The ASC Program : Decrease Discipline Problems. Increase Skills

Today more teachers, parents and communities are being called on to
manage children and teens who suffer with behavioral challenges. ASC is
a program that helps you improve the quality of life for these children and
those who are involved in the child’s life. ASC is straightforward and easy
to learn, does not require a large time or financial commitment, and
is indisputably effective.

ASC was developed by Karin  based on her extensive experience working with challenging children, adolescents and families from the inpatient and residential treatment programs at Rogers Memorial Hospital. Karin pinpoints the real problem behind the negative behavior, the falling grades, the lack of self-confidence and provides effective education and training that addresses these concerns.

Awareness, Self-responsibility and Positive Change

Now, school districts, day care centers, camps, community and county
agencies in Wisconsin and northern Illinois have direct access to ASC, a
program once offered only to Rogers Memorial Hospital’s nurses, therapists,
teachers and other care givers.

  • ASC provides a working knowledge of childhood behavioral health
disorders, such as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD),
    autism and depression.
  • ASC allows you to maximize time for learning by minimizing behavioral
    disruptions and discipline issues.
  • ASC teaches simple, effective techniques and interventions that
    really work.

Personalized Consultations

  • Observations and evaluations of classroom,
organization or agency setting, staff member
interactions and interventions, and a child’s
    specific behaviors
  • Consultations on Individual Education Plans (IEP) and
    Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP)
  • Assistance in the creation and implementation of specialized
    curriculums

General Presentations

  • General presentations can be given to parent groups, schools, day care centers, camps and county agency staff
