Addiction Recovery Outpatient Care

Addiction Recovery PHP/IOP

A specialized partial hospitalization (PHP) or intensive outpatient (IOP) addiction program or the combination of a mental health disorder and a co-occurring addiction program may be a first step in your journey toward recovery. You may be stepping down from residential care, or you may be returning after a relapse. Whatever your situation, we’re here to guide patients through the ups and downs using proven, evidence-based approaches led by experts in psychiatry, addiction medicine and mental health.

If living in a supportive living facility or life's circumstances make it difficult for you to enroll in an inpatient care program is what's holding you back from seeking addiction care, PHP/IOP addiction treatment may be the solution for you. Rogers' PHP/IOP addiction programs offer the treatment that you need while also allowing you to live your normal life, like being with your family and working at your job.

PHP/IOP offers two levels of specialized addiction treatment

  • Partial hospitalization care
for opioid, drug and alcohol addiction, or mental health disorders paired with a co-occurring addiction (6 to 7 hours a day/4 to 5 days a week)

  • Intensive outpatient care
for opioid, drug and alcohol addiction, or mental health disorders paired with a co-occurring addiction
    (3 hours a day, 5 days a week)

Patients, families, and treatment teams work together to determine length of PHP/IOP programs based on individual progress and situations.

You’ll receive intensive, daily therapy sessions at Rogers during the day or evening; depending on care length, you can remain connected to home, work or school.

Care includes general addiction treatment and medication-assisted options.

Therapeutic approach

Your team will use the 12-Step program along with other evidence-based interventions as a framework. Depending on care, components of your or your child's addiction treatment may include:

A family program, computer-based treatment and experiential therapy may be part of your care plan in addition to individual, group and family therapy.

You will gain insight into your behaviors and feelings, letting you set realistic goals and develop new skills for success.

Rogers can also work to stabilize acute schizophrenia symptoms while treating other mental health disorders, such as addiction, to help those struggling regain stability, independence, and overall well-being.

Medication-assisted treatment

In several care options, you may use medication-assisted treatment (MAT). When combined with therapy, MAT is a highly effective approach to drug and alcohol addiction. MAT may include medications for opioid dependence, such as Suboxone, Vivitrol, or Sublocade, or medications for alcohol such as Antabuse. These medicines block the effects of opioids, deter alcohol consumption, may ease withdrawal symptoms, and can reduce cravings.

Mental Health and Addiction Recovery for teens and adults

If you or a loved one face a mental health disorder and co-occurring addiction, you’re not alone. Nearly one-third of people with mental illness also have an addiction to drugs or alcohol, including teenagers who may use substances or alcohol to cope with challenging mental health symptoms, only to develop an addiction.

We understand the complexity of your unique health situation. Research shows the best way to reduce your or a child's symptoms is to treat the mental health and addiction issues at the same time. We’ll work with you or your child on an addiction treatment plan that meets your specific needs.

Our screening process will help assess your symptoms, identify whether you have an addiction or a co-occurring mental health issue, and determine a program and level of care that works for you.
