Eating Disorders Adult Inpatient

The eating disorder inpatient program for adults provides a safe, supportive environment. Our program uses a number of proven methods to help adults deal with the psychological issues that influence the eating disorder. These factors include self-esteem, problem solving, coping with feelings and urges to use eating disorder behaviors.

At Rogers, we believe that for adults who require intensive stabilization for eating disorders, the inpatient program provides an ideal setting for them to change their eating behavior and have the support of knowledgeable staff to help them. Due to the short-term nature of inpatient treatment, the major focus is to interrupt the cycle of unhealthy eating patterns, to stabilize nutritional intake and to develop a plan for continued treatment of the eating disorder outside the inpatient program.

Treatment services are led by a full-time board-certified psychiatrist who specializes in eating disorders. Throughout their treatment stay, adults have a full and structured, yet manageable, day of programming. Therapeutic meals and snacks throughout the day include breakfast, mid-morning snack, lunch, mid-afternoon snack, dinner, and an evening snack. All meals and snacks are supervised by trained staff members including registered dietitians and nurses who provide appropriate encouragement and support.
