Dr. Jody Pahlavan, Director of Rogers Child and Adolescent Day Treatment Program, was the a guest on WTMJ 4’s The Morning Blend to discusses the types of activities that are healthy and fun for kids during the summer months. The goal is to provide kids structure to remain on track during the summer months through consistency in sleep/wake patterns, meal times, and scheduled activities.
For children who could benefit from additional support, Rogers’ offers a Child & Adolescent Day Treatment Program which helps kids ages 4 to 18 with mental health concerns or behavior challenges to develop important life skills. Their specialized treatment team creates a safe and supportive environment where kids can realize the effects of their behaviors, thoughts and emotions, and can begin to make positive changes. Kids enrolled in the half-day program are taught techniques to give them more control over feelings that are interfering with good academic performance. During the summer, kids can work on developing skills to help them meet the challenges of the next school year.
