Rogers’ Eating Disorder Partial Hospitalization Program is one of the few in the area to offer high quality eating disorder treatment to kids and teens, ages 10 to 18. We’ve made several enhancements to this program so that we can continue to offer comprehensive, evidence-based eating disorder treatment.
Welcome Cathy Henricks, MS, new Clinical Services Manager of the program. With 28 years of experience in mental health, Cathy helps to build partnerships with patients, families and referring clinicians. She says, “We’re dedicated to helping people find recovery. Many of our kids have been through other treatment programs, but we see them get better here because they get the high level of structure and support that kids need.”
Families are crucial to long term recovery. Rogers has formed a Family Education Group to help empower parents. Meeting for one hour, once a week, this group shows parents how to monitor and address eating disorder behaviors. Parents are then invited to have lunch with their child. This approach gives parents tools to support their child’s success.
To continue to offer the best evidence-based treatment, we’ve added full-time Behavioral Specialist Alyson Boness to our staff. Alyson will be working with kids and teens to address anxiety that may accompany an eating disorder. Using Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy in group and one-on-one settings, we can improve anxiety symptoms and clarify their relationship with the eating disorder. Also joining the treatment team are Olivia Bruss and Kristy Zoesch, social workers with specialized eating disorder experience.
